Canvas Support

Contact Canvas Support for assistance with issues relating only to MAP Online Courses and the Online Nursing Program. 

  • Software assistance for Canvas performance 
  • Canvas technical issues
  • Curriculum issues will be escalated to course Delivery Support

Students will receive a tech sheet approximately 24 hours after registering for their first course at Marian University.

  • To ensure security, an e-mail will be sent to the home e-mail address provided on the application for admission and delivered via Barracuda, a secure e-mail system. 
  • Students will need to create an account by entering a password twice.
  • Once an account has been established, the student will be able to log in and view the e-mail from Marian University.
  • If you don’t see an e-mail from MUAccountInfo-DoNotReply@marian.edu, please check your spam filter. 
  • Note: To ensure that your password hasn’t expired, please log into your Marian University e-mail account first.

Yes, communications regarding Marian University academics and student life are sent to your Marian University e-mail account. This includes weather and safety related emergencies, Canvas LMS information, student activities, business hours for dining and the bookstore, and more. We encourage students to check this account often.

Your Canvas LMS account is tied to your Marian University e-mail account. You will use the same username and password to access both. To ensure that your password hasn’t expired, please log into your e-mail account first. If your username and password doesn’t allow access, please contact the Marian University Help Desk at 317.955.6444.

Classroom-based Courses: 

Instructors typically publish their course one week prior to the start of the term or session. If you don’t have immediate access, please be patient. All materials will be accessible prior to the start of the course.

Online Prerequisite Courses (including BIO 214, BIO 225, BIO 226, BUS 205, CHE 100, PSY 220, PSY 230, THL 105 and THL 216.) 

Typically, students will have access to the syllabus and textbook two weeks prior to the start of the course. Access to course modules, lectures, exams, etc. are not available until the first day of class.

Classroom-based Courses: 

Once a course is published, typically one week prior to the start date, students will have access to the syllabus. The syllabus is found in the “Syllabus” section located within Canvas. Some syllabi are also found in the “Files” section.


Online Prerequisite Courses (including BIO 214, BIO 225, BIO 226, BUS 205, CHE 100, PSY 220, PSY 230, THL 105 and THL 216.)

A parking pass, classroom location sheet and student flyers are housed in the “Files” section of Canvas. Please open the “MAP Materials” folder. These items are available in a printable PDF format.
