Since graduating from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2002, Andrew Falk has applied his legal training in a wide variety of roles. He clerked for a federal district judge as well as Justice Brent Dickson on the Indiana Supreme Court, engaged in private practice, and worked for both the state and federal governments.
One of his most rewarding roles was serving as the executive director of a non-profit organization helping women leave prison and find housing, employment, and education. Throughout his career, Falk has enjoyed teaching others about the law, and for more than ten years, has mentored both undergraduate and law students through a variety of internships and clerkships.
Falk lives with his wife and five children in Indianapolis and enjoys reading, house remodeling, and managing his fantasy football teams.
Professional SnapshotLaura Herrera has been teaching with the MUO Paralegal Studies Program since 2015. She has been a litigation paralegal for more than twenty-five years and currently serves as office administrator of a practice in Indianapolis, Indiana. Herrera has taught at the college level, both in-person and online, for the past eighteen years.
Herrera serves as chair of the following committees: Miss Celebrations USA Lights Over Morse Lake Pageant; Golf Cart Poker Run; Golf Cart Raffle; and the Boat Poker Run.
Herrera believes that community involvement is important and gives back to her community in Cicero, Indiana. Each year, she volunteers for the two-day adaptive water ski clinic sponsored by the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana and the Indiana Water Ski Association on Morse Reservoir. Herrera is also very involved in the Lights Over Morse Lake Festival Committee—a non-profit organization that puts on a three to four-day festival each year in Cicero, along with an amazing fireworks show over the lake.
Herrera looks forward each year to her new and returning students.
Professional SnapshotMark King is an adjunct professor of history and paralegal studies and works full-time as assistant chief of the CHINS/TPR division with the Marion County Public Defender Agency, where he supervises and represents indigent clients involved with the Indiana Department of Child Services.
King started his legal career as a prosecutor, joined the FBI after 9/11, and maintained a private practice for over ten years before joining the Marion County Public Defender Agency. He is licensed in Georgia and Indiana trial courts, the Indiana Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for both the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
King is currently working on his Ph.D. in History and expects to finish in the spring of 2024.
Professional SnapshotSteven R. Miller teaches LAW 215, the Legal Research course, in Marian University’s Paralegal Studies Program. He has a great deal of experience as a legal research instructor and law librarian. Miller has taught legal research, among other places, at the Northwestern University School of Law and worked for the Chicago law firm of Wilson & McIlvaine, now part of Quarles & Brady.
Mr. Miller is a graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, the Dominican University School of Information Studies, and the Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Science.
Mr. Miller has a love for the study of the law, legal research, and education. After graduating from law school, he began working for a Chicago law firm of nearly 90 attorneys and later returned to academia. He has published articles and given presentations at national conferences on timely legal research topics.
Mr. Miller is the past President of the Indiana University Library Association, the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries, and the Kiwanis Club of Greenwood, Indiana. He currently chairs the Greenwood United Methodist Church Preschool Board.
Developing research skills serves as a foundation for the paralegal studies program and is the focus of the LAW 215 course. Mr. Miller looks forward to teaching all Marian University paralegal students and wishes everyone much success in the program and in their career!
Professional SnapshotJudy Pippin works as a senior attorney at Kopka Pinkus Dolin, a regional firm where she handles insurance and employer defense for various claims. Before working on the defense side, Pippin represented plaintiffs in various claims and worked for the State of Indiana and a large insurance company.
Legal experience in different settings allows Pippin to teach students from various perspectives.
She also volunteers on the Kids’ Chance Board, Beacon of Hope Board, and The Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic.
Professional SnapshotRaeanna Spahn, J.D., is an attorney who focuses her practice in personal injury civil litigation. She has the experience and knowledge to understand and navigate complex civil litigation, including matters arising out of automobile and trucking collisions, premises liability accidents, dog bites, Section 1983 civil rights violations, and medical malpractice actions.
Prior to joining Eskew Law, LLC, Raeanna acquired extensive criminal and civil litigation experience. Raeanna is a former deputy prosecuting attorney and prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony offenses, including DUI (OVWI) offenses. Afterward, Raeanna focused her practice in insurance defense civil litigation, including automobile collisions, dog bites, and premises liability accidents. Raeanna also counseled and defended medical providers, both physicians and healthcare organizations, in medical malpractice actions. She also defended clients in Section 1983 civil rights actions and matters before the Indiana Attorney General’s Office. Raeanna has tried numerous jury and bench trials, and her litigation experience extends to both state and federal court.
Raeanna graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Political Science and International Studies with an emphasis in Global Security. Thereafter, she graduated from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in May of 2010 and became a member of the Indiana Bar in October of 2010. Raeanna is also admitted to the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana’s United States District Courts.
Raeanna resides in Indianapolis and serves her clients throughout the State of Indiana.
