Awards and Recognitions

The Office of the Provost coordinates the presentation of the following faculty awards:

The award recipients will be selected by a committee of the university faculty. There should be no application process. The only criterion is excellence in teaching as identified by the selection committee. Faculty who teach at least half time and who have at least three years of service at Marian but have not received the award in the prior three years will be eligible.  The selection committee will be composed of the award recipients from prior three years with support from the Office of the Provost.

Awarded during the Celebration of Teaching, two faculty members are recognized for their innovative work in the classroom. Using Marian’s Learning Framework as criteria, external judges review the poster presentations of faculty at the event and seek input from faculty in attendance. Awardees receive a plaque and a monetary stipend to support their own faculty development.
