American Marketing Association Student Chapter

Take your interest in a marketing or sales career to the next level!

Members of the American Marketing Association (AMA) student chapter are interested in the latest marketing and sales news, developments, trends, best practices, and research. Activities are designed to build knowledge, skills, and understanding of sound business principles.

The chapter is managed by an executive board of students, including the Chapter President, Vice President, Director of Sales Activities, Director of Marketing Activities, and other officers as determined by the president and faculty advisor. Membership is $29 annually and students must be AMA members to participate in competitive events and conference attendance.

The chapter’s members collaborate to offer the following:

  • A beginner-level sales competition each fall, open to business students in the introductory sales course
  • Participation in the AMA annual marketing case competition each fall
  • Guest speakers, field experiences, and trips to visit local businesses that are of particular interest
  • Networking and relationship-building events attended by students, faculty, alumni, and members of the central Indiana business community
  • Low cost or no cost competitions, certifications, and training offered by AMA national
  • Attendance at the annual international collegiate conference each spring, including the marketing and sales competitions held in conjunction with that event
  • Membership in the Alpha Mu Alpha Honor Society. Qualified students are nominated by the faculty advisor and inducted each spring.

Membership is open to any Marian University student. Call-out meetings are held annually. Contact Professor Lori Rumreich, faculty advisor, for more information.
