About the E. S. Witchger School of Engineering

This is an extremely exciting time at Marian University as we embark upon a new entrepreneurial endeavor, launching the new E.S. Witchger School of Engineering. While Marian students have been able to study engineering for almost a decade through our partnership with IUPUI, the dual degree engineering program (DDEP) usually requires 5 or more years to complete 2 majors, one at Marian and another at IUPUI. Starting in Fall 2022, students in the E.S. Witchger School of Engineering at Marian University will be able to complete engineering degrees within 4 years in one of six engineering disciplines... biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, and mechanical engineering as well as engineering physics!

U.S. News ranks Marian University in the top 30 out of all regional Midwest universities as well as top 5 Best Value and Most Innovative university. Marian University is a great place to study! Marian engineering will be unique in numerous ways:

• Our hands-on, design-oriented curriculum provides students with an opportunity to solve real-world engineering problems and develop practical solutions to meet societal and industry needs.
• Our engineering programs are complemented a dynamic liberal arts curriculum that will enhance our ability to teach and train engineers in the areas of leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills as well as promoting a global mindset.
• Our small class sizes with a roughly 10-to-1 student-to-faculty ratio facilitates interactive and collaborative learning opportunities for students. Marian students have direct interaction with faculty trained at the highest levels in their fields. All classes are taught by full-time faculty, not graduate students.
• In Fall 2023, we will be opening up a new, spectacular engineering facility with state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories, equipment, and study spaces for students, staff, and faculty.
• Living, learning, and playing in a vibrant city such as Indianapolis will allow our students access to internships and jobs, a thriving arts scene, and professional sports.
