Career Development Fund

Student Experiential Learning Stipend

The  Career Development Fund from The Exchange is a competitive stipend focused on supporting student experiential learning and career development opportunities. This fund is made possible by the numerous employer partners who attend career fairs at Marian University throughout the school year, and donors committed to supporting student experiential learning. We are so appreciative of your support!

The primary focus of this fund is to assist with out-of-pocket expenses for: unpaid internships, professional examination fees, conference registrations, and more. If you are unsure if your experience would be eligible for a stipend, feel free to submit an application, or  email The Exchange at exchange@marian.edu

There are a few circumstances which are not eligible to receive funding includingthose who are pursuing an opportunity with a family business, clinical experiences, or reimbursement for past/already completed experiences. Please feel free to reach out to The Exchange if you are unsure if your experience would be eligible.

Recipients are determined by committee review and prioritize students with greatest demonstrated financial need. Students must remain in good standing with Marian University to receive the stipend. In our efforts to aid numerous students across campus, an award can only be granted to a student once.

Stipend amounts are awarded based on request and are capped at $750 per student.  Marian University will include any stipend amount awarded in its annual evaluation of 1099 filings. Stipend disbursements are based on situational need and may include: reimbursement with receipt of payment, direct disbursement to student, etc.

Unfortunately, not all applicants will receive a stipend . We hope that you will consider re-applying next semester/year should you have need with another experience.

In addition, we request recipients provide written consent for their name and experience to be shared on The Exchange social media pages and marketing materials.

The career development fund will have an application each Fall and Spring semester.

Students interested in receiving the stipend for Spring semesters should apply at the Fall deadline.

Students interested in receiving the stipend for Summer/Fall semesters should apply at the Spring deadline.

Each semester, the application will be posted in CORE under the Student Employment module.

Each completed application includes submission of Application Questions, Budget Template, and updated Resume.
