Biography 

Binh Tran joined Marian University in 2021 as its founding dean for the E. S. Witchger School of Engineering. He has over 20+ years of experience in academia and research as a faculty member in biomedical engineering. Dr. Tran’s research and academic interests pertain to the areas of telehealth/telemedicine, health information technologies, biomedical instrumentation, biomedical imaging, and cardio-pulmonary biomechanics. He is especially interested in the research, development and applications of technology to create innovative health care solutions to facilitate healthy independent living for elderly populations, people with disabilities and those living with chronic illnesses. Binh has received national recognition for his research, teaching, and service to the engineering profession. He serves on the editorial board of several engineering journals and on grant review panels for NIH, FDA, Department of Education, and others. Dr. Tran also has experience working in the engineering industry as well with several start-up companies. He was a member of the United States Naval Reserves.
