Lois and Sidney Eskenazi

Lois and Sidney Eskenazi Lois and Sidney Eskenazi are committed philanthropists whose family business, started by Sidney in 1963, is one of the nation’s leading real estate development companies, managing more than 70 properties in 23 states.

The Eskenazi’s provided a $40 million gift to the Eskenazi Health Foundation, the largest gift ever made to a public hospital in the United States. The new hospital, home to the first of two adult Level I trauma centers in Indiana and the region’s only adult burn center, is named to honor them.

The great need for public health care inspired the Eskenazi’s extraordinary service to our community. Sidney’s modest upbringing on the south side of Indianapolis influenced his family’s dedication to giving back to the city, state, and nation. Serving as benefactors of their city, state, and community, the couple’s generosity will ensure that the people of their hometown have access to health care.
