Professor to Give Poetry Reading at Allison Mansion

David Shumate, poet and assistant professor of English at Marian University, will read from his newest book, Kimonos in the Closet, on Saturday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Allison Mansion Overlook Room on campus.

Shumate is the author of three books of prose poetry, High Water Mark, The Floating Bridge, and Kimonos in the Closet, all published by the University of Pittsburgh Press. His poetry has also been anthologized in The Best American Poetry, Good Poems for Hard Times, and elsewhere.  

The reading will be presented by the Marian University Department of English and Communication and qualifies as a HUM 230/231 Arts Experience for students.
