Juried Student Exhibition and Alumni Exhibition to Be On Display in the Marian University Art Gallery

The Marian University Department of Art and Design Juried Student Exhibition, juried by Calcango Cullen, will be on display in the Marian University Art Gallery (MUAG) located in the Michael A. Evans Center for Health Sciences from January 19–February 9.  The exhibition will feature art and designs created by Marian University Department of Art and Design majors and minors.  An awards ceremony, jurors talk, and reception will be held on Monday, January 24, from 5-7p.m.  The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public. Calcango Cullen is co-founder and Executive Director of Wave Pool, a contemporary art center that pairs communities' knowledge of their needs with artists' sense of possibility. Wave Pool creates, supports, and encourages experimental art that connects communities and creates change.  Cullen is an experienced executive director with a demonstrated history of working at the intersection of fine arts and community building. She is skilled in project management, fundraising, community organizing, curating, and collaborative social engagement. Cullen is a strong business development professional with a Master of Fine Arts focused in Studio Art and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies from the University of Cincinnati.

There will also be an Alumni Exhibition on display in the MUAG from January 12–February 21. The exhibition will feature art and designs created by Department of Art and Design alumni Emma Cassani, Kaitlin O'Grady, and Maya Quandt. A reception artist talk will be held on Monday, February 21, from 5:30-7 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

Given the complex nature of COVID- 19, the MUAG have the following policies put in place for our visitor’s health and safety:

• Visitors to the MUAG must always wear a mask. 
• Visitors to the MUAG must have three feet of space between themselves and others.
• Hand sanitizer will be available for visitors to use.
