E. Andrew Steffen Sacred Concert Happening April 8

by Katie Bradley | Apr 03, 2013

On Monday, April 8, the Department of Music and Campus Ministry present the E. Andrew Steffen Sacred Concert at 7:30 p.m. in the Bishop Chartrand Memorial Chapel in Marian Hall on the campus of Marian University. The concert will feature Marian University Sacred Choir and Chamber Singers, senior pastoral music ministry majors, and a community choir that meets and sings at Marian University every spring.

The choirs will perform many different styles of sacred music, including music by David Haas, John Angotti, Dan Forrest, and Ludwig von Beethoven.  Sacred Choir alumni have been invited to the concert to sing Steve Green’s, “I Will Go,” featured on the Sacred Choir’s 75th Anniversary CD.

The concert is free, but a collection will be taken up to benefit St Antoine School and Parish in Haiti. Special guest and emcee, Msgr. Ray East from St. Teresa of Avila Parish in Washington, D.C., will give a short presentation on St. Antoine in Haiti, showing how donations help the children there.
